Sunday 11th September 2016 Wedding Fayre
We were very pleased to display our illustrated wedding stationery range featuring this beauty of a hotel which also caters for wedding ceremonies and receptions (www.mountsomersethotelandspa.com). Using the grand entrance with its running fountain in the foreground as the image for our sketch, we were very pleased to hear the very lovely comments on how well we had captured this scene. The guests were also very complimentary on how we had used the theme of the sketch throughout our stationery products, adding they really had not seen anything quite like it either in design or of the products we offered.
As for the types of products we offer, the information cards with maps was something a lot of the people we spoke to had not thought about. The couples we spoke with were bowled over with our elegant table plan, using the sketch as a watermark for a backdrop to the seating arrangements. Some loved our classic ‘white & gold’ while others loved the more contemporary coloured invitations, with many imagining the colour of their bridesmaids dresses and flowers being used as the theme to their matching illustrated stationery. Our framed Guest Comments got most of the ‘must have’ comments as it really is something quite different where we provide a personalised mounted framed sketch and are able to either print guests messages or scan in their hand-written messages for a great keepsake and to hang proudly on the wall of their home.
Our ‘cherry on the cake’ product is easily a clear cut winner with everyone – our framed personalized sketch – which not only provides a lovely piece of art and a memory of where they ‘tied the knot’ but a great idea to give as gifts, especially to their parents.
The afternoon was racing by, with no breaks in between seeing eager couples wanting information. The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky- what a special Fayre this was!
Approaching this magnificent building standing alone and proud on a hill overlooking the surrounding spectacular views of the Quantock Hills on this warm sunny day, the guests made full use of the garden terrace, casually observing and having as giggle at people attempting the archery that was set up on the lawns, whilst being offered a glass of bubbly and tasty canapés from waiters in smart waist-coated uniforms with such infectious smiles.
As guests entered the front entrance opposite the fountain and with grand pillars on the front steps they immediately see the grand sweeping staircase and impressive chandelier. A ‘gem’ of a scene for the photographer and those all important shots.
Asking the couples if they were thinking of getting married at The Mount Somerset, most said they had either booked, or it had certainly gone to the top of their short-lists after soaking up the ambiance the Hotel and staff offered.
The whole place was buzzing with excitement from beginning to end from both visiting couples eagerly planning for one of the most important days of their lives, to all the wedding suppliers enjoying the fact of being able to share their joy in a small way.
